Port Campbell Variety Abilities Unleashed - Kids

Corangamite Shire Council, Regional Sport Victoria, and Disability Sports Australia invite children living with sensory, physical or intellectual disabilities to the free Variety Abilities Unleashed - Kids.

This event is a part of Port Campbell's Accessible Beach Day on International Day of People with Disabilities. 

The day is designed to provide children with disabilities aged 5-18 with the opportunity to experience sports and active recreation in a positive, safe, and inclusive environment. Participants will be encouraged and empowered to explore local adaptive sport and recreation opportunities.

This event is proudly supported by Variety the Children's Charity - Victoria and MatchWorks, and presented by Disability Sports Australia, Regional Sport Victoria, and Corangamite Shire Council.

How the event will look

Participants will be split into smaller groups upon registration. There will be two sports at multiple time slots on offer. These activities will consist of sport and active recreation with the use of adaptive equipment to suit the participants. The stations will be facilitated by specialised coaches with the support of students and community organisations.

The day will finish at approximately 1 PM. Participants will get to leave the day with a show bag.

The timeslots are:

• 10 am – 10.50 am
• 11 am – 11.50 am
• 12 pm – 12.50 pm

Photography

There will be videographers and photographers capturing content of the event with the intentions of promoting disability inclusive sport. Media consent approval is included in the registration form. On the day, participants wishing to not be captured will be given the option of a coloured wristband or bib to assist media team.
